West-MEC Alliance (WMA)
The West-MEC Alliance (WMA) is the 501(c)(3) education foundation dedicated to enriching the career and technical education experience for the students of Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) public school district. Composed of industry leaders, volunteers, and community partners across Maricopa County, WMA raises funds, builds partnerships, and mobilizes resources to enrich student outcomes for those attending West-MEC programming. WMA supports industry-recognized credential attainment and advances Arizona’s workforce and economic development goals.
WMA seeks its first Executive Director to serve as a founding leader responsible for organizing, operationalizing, and growing the foundation’s mission and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute strategic growth initiatives in partnership with the Board
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising & grants strategy
- Cultivate industry, donor, and community partnerships
- Establish performance metrics and impact reporting
- Serve as WMA’s primary ambassador within the West-MEC communities
- Report to the WMA Board of Directors (Quarterly Reports)
Qualifications
- Proven nonprofit leadership experience, preferably in a growth or start-up position
- Strong fundraising and partnership development background
- Financial oversight and budget management skills
- Excellent communication and board collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity
Terms of Employment
- Part-Time, 12-Month Contract (1099 Independent Contractor)
- One-Year Renewable Appointment
- $65,000 – $75,000 (not to exceed agreed maximum)
- Workspace and reimbursable expenses to be negotiated
- Monthly or quarterly invoice, as defined in contract
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekend activities
